Missed Appointment Policy

NCC has a responsibility to ensure that all clients are appropriately participating in treatment. Therapy sessions are scheduled at a specific day and time on a weekly basis; appointments with our psychiatrists are scheduled on a monthly basis. Any changes in your availability must be discussed with your therapist; accommodations may be provided if your therapist is given adequate notice. Due to high demand for services at this time, we are trying to accommodate as many clients as possible. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise which can result in a missed appointment. However, all clients are expected to contact their therapist or the front desk staff within 48 hours if they need to cancel or reschedule a pre-existing appointment. Giving proper notice of cancellation gives us the opportunity to offer that time slot for another client.
Self-pay clients and clients with commercial insurances who fail to notify the office of cancellation within 48 hours of their scheduled therapy and/or psychiatric appointment will be charged a $50 broken appointment fee. Psychotherapy is highly dependent on the therapeutic relationship between a therapist and their client. Here at NCC, our therapists make a commitment to their clients and it is essential that clients are also committed to their own treatment. Open communication and maintaining weekly therapy appointments are two of the most important factors to achieving optimal progress in therapy. For clients who have an active psychotropic medication regimen, maintaining monthly psychiatric appointments is essential in ensuring that our psychiatrists are addressing your medication needs and concerns. I acknowledge that NCC has a 48-hour cancellation policy. If I give less than 48 hours cancellation notice for a scheduled appointment, I will be charged a $50 broken appointment fee.
